
Free wellness experiences in NSW for Global Wellness Day 2026!
What does joy mean to you? Maybe it’s moving your body in nature, taking a moment to slow down, connecting with others, or simply doing something that makes you feel good. Global Wellness Day 2026 invites people around the world to explore joy not as a passing emotion, but as an important part of living well.
Held on Saturday 13 June 2026, Global Wellness Day is a global not-for-profit initiative celebrated in more than 170 countries, encouraging people to embrace healthier and more mindful lifestyles through accessible wellness experiences. Marking its 15th anniversary this year, the theme is Joy, and right across NSW, there are free wellness experiences on offer!
From sound baths and sunrise rituals on Sydney Harbour to walking in ancient forests, nature takes centre stage in this year’s celebrations. There are so many free wellness experiences in store in NSW on Global Wellness Day – and you can register here to be the first to hear when tickets are released!
If you can’t make it to one of the events below, you might like to find your closest parkrun Australia – a free weekly 5km community event held every Saturday morning at locations across NSW. Open to all ages and fitness levels, participants can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate in a welcoming and inclusive environment. With no time limits and no one finishing last, parkrun is all about movement, connection and community!
Rituals of Joy - A Well Traveller Signature Event

Set against the stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbour, this uplifting (and free!) Global Wellness Day event invites guests to start the morning with a revitalising blend of movement, mindfulness and meditation on the Bennelong Lawn at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, right beside the Sydney Opera House.
Presented in collaboration with Destination NSW and Australian skin care brand Sodashi, the experience is designed to awaken the body and calm the mind through simple wellness rituals that can be carried into everyday life.
Guests will enjoy an inspiring introduction from Well Traveller TV host and mental wellbeing advocate Barry Du Bois, followed by a mindful movement session led by Matt, Fitness & Movement Manager from Elysia Wellness Retreat in the Hunter Valley. The morning also includes a deeply relaxing sound bath with Bess from The Bess Life and a calming guided meditation with Sodashi founder Megan Larsen.

Nature’s Breath nature walk in the Blue Mountains

Nature’s Breath: Leura Nature Immersion is a free guided 3‑hour micro‑adventure thoughtfully curated by Tagster for those seeking stillness, grounding, and meaningful creative expression.
Set among sandstone overhangs, lush ferns, and the tranquil soundscape of Lyrebird Dell and the Pool of Siloam, this experience blends mindful breathwork, contemplative walking, creativity, nourishment, and reflective poetry.
Joy in the NSW Southern Highlands

Set among the peaceful landscapes of the NSW Southern Highlands, Highlands Centre For Healing offers a restorative two-hour wellness experience created by founder Soo Woods. Blending nature-based, somatic, energy and animal-assisted therapies, this free session invites guests to gently reconnect with mind, body and spirit through three guided healing practices.
At the heart of the sanctuary is a herd of intuitive therapy horses, whose calming presence supports grounding, emotional healing and self-discovery. The experience concludes with tea, shared reflections and takeaway affirmation cards, leaving guests feeling calm, connected and restored.
A Surf Session on the NSW South Coast

Celebrate Global Wellness Day with a free beginner-friendly surf experience on the NSW South Coast with Camel Rock Surf School, led by founder Kirsty Furbank and her passionate team.
Designed for first-time surfers and anyone looking to reconnect with nature, the session will be held in Bermagui and begins with gentle stretching, grounding exercises and mindful check-ins before guests head into the ocean for a supportive learn-to-surf lesson.
Focused on fun, confidence and wellbeing, this uplifting experience encourages participants to slow down, try something new and embrace the joy that comes from moving in nature and catching their first wave in a welcoming environment.
Walk and Weave at North Head Sanctuary

Celebrate Global Wellness Day with Walk and Weave, a free First Nations-led experience at North Head Sanctuary in Manly. Presented by the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust, this immersive 90-minute session combines a guided bushland walk with hands-on weaving using native materials.
Led by proud Gumbaynggirr woman and Koori Kinnections educator Caressa Murphy, guests will explore the deep cultural and environmental connections First Nations peoples have with Country. Along the coastal tracks, learn about traditional fishing and gathering practices, native plants and the stories woven through the landscape. Thoughtful and grounding, this experience offers a meaningful way to connect with nature and culture.
Sunrise meditation in Sydney

Set beside the water in Sydney’s Elizabeth Bay, this free community meditation session with Somatic Balance.108 offers a calming space to slow down and reconnect on Global Wellness Day.
Led by founder Caroline Hey, the welcoming group experience is open to everyone, from curious beginners to regular meditators.
Combining mindfulness, breathwork and gratitude practices, the session includes a gentle welcome circle, a 20-minute guided meditation and a closing reflection designed to foster clarity, connection and inner calm in a peaceful harbourside setting.
Sunrise Kayak on Sydney Harbour

Welcome the day with this free and unforgettable sunrise paddle on Sydney Harbour with Sydney Kayaking Tours. As the city begins to wake, guests will glide across calm harbour waters, taking in iconic views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge bathed in the soft morning light.
Led by knowledgeable local guides, this relaxed small-group experience is suitable for all skill levels and offers a peaceful way to connect with nature, embrace mindful movement and experience Sydney from a unique perspective on the water.
A sauna session at Bondi

Feel the heat on Global Wellness Day with a free wellness session at Nimbus Co Bondi, where guests can experience the restorative benefits of infrared sauna therapy in a calming, sensory-focused space.
Known for its immersive approach to contrast therapy, Nimbus combines full spectrum infrared saunas and cold plunge experiences designed to engage all five senses and encourage deep relaxation and presence.
As part of the celebration, guests can enjoy a free 45-minute private infrared sauna session, complete with complimentary filtered water and towel service. It’s the perfect opportunity to unwind, reset and experience a moment of total restoration by the beach in Bondi.
Mindfulness in the Botanic Garden, Sydney
