Forest Bathing in Himeji Japanese Garden

Adelaide, South Australia, Australia

Escape the bustle of the city and discover a moment of calm with a guided Forest Bathing experience in Adelaide’s beautiful Himeji Japanese Garden. Nestled within the city’s parklands, this urban wellness experience offers a rare opportunity to slow down, reconnect with nature and restore a sense of balance without leaving the heart of Adelaide.

Guided by a certified Forest Therapy Guide, you’ll be gently led through the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku (forest bathing), using mindful invitations and sensory awareness exercises to deepen your connection with the natural environment. As you wander through the tranquil gardens, you’ll notice the soothing sounds of flowing water, the beauty of carefully curated landscapes and the restorative power of simply being present.

Designed to support relaxation, reduce stress and encourage mental clarity, the experience unfolds at an unhurried pace, allowing time for reflection and stillness. The session concludes with a beautiful tea ceremony in the gardens, providing a grounding and meaningful way to end the experience.

This immersive nature experience is held every week and is suitable for all fitness levels. The team also offer the experience within a special old growth forest in Belair National Park in the Adelaide Hills.

A word from your host

Lisa Murphy, Founder
“I have always felt an increased sense of self, calm, peace and joy when out in nature whether it be on trails with trees or by the ocean. I decided to train as a Nature Therapy Guide because I knew first-hand how it made me feel and I wanted to grow my skills to allow people to immerse deeper and connect with nature in a way that would offer positive physical and mental health outcomes.”
