Celebrating Global Wellness Day 2025 around Australia!
It started for me with a single breath. A deep one – the kind that finds its way all the way into your belly. I was standing barefoot on damp grass, early morning mist still clinging to the trees, trying to remember the last time I’d truly stopped. Not paused between tasks or scrolled past a wellness quote on Instagram, but landed – fully – in the present moment.
That was my first Global Wellness Day, and this annual celebration has become something I mark in my calendar – a personal reset and a global reminder that wellness isn’t a luxury, but a right. It’s a chance to step away from the noise and reconnect with what really matters.
So, what is Global Wellness Day?
Held on the second Saturday in June each year, Global Wellness Day is a not-for-profit global initiative dedicated to living well. Celebrated in more than 170 countries, it’s a movement that invites people to take just one day to pause and ask, How can I live a healthier, better life?
This year, Global Wellness Day was held on Saturday 14 June 2025, and the theme was Reconnect. From sunrise rituals by the sea to forest bathing in ancient woodlands, nature took centre stage in this year’s celebrations.
“Well Traveller was so proud to be supporting Global Wellness Day in Australia this year,” says Katherine Droga, Global Wellness Day Ambassador and Founder of Well Traveller. “This day isn’t about overhauling your life, it’s about starting where you are. Taking a deep breath. Choosing joy. Reconnecting with what truly nourishes you - whether that’s herbs, horses, or simply being in nature.”
Whether you were craving connection, stillness, movement or simply fresh air in your lungs, here are just some of the beautiful ways that guests said 'yes to wellness' in Australia - for free - on Global Wellness Day 2025.
Healing Herbs: harnessing nature for wellbeing

Visitors stepped into the fragrant heart of the Sydney Botanic Herb Garden for a guided 45-minute session led by Cherie Hutchinson, Jurlique’s Adelaide Hills Farm Manager. They explored the ancient art of herbal healing - from mood-lifting tonics to skin-nourishing botanicals – and learnt how herbs have been used for centuries to support emotional and physical wellbeing.
They left with a deeper appreciation for the lifeforce of nature (and a complimentary full size Jurlique gift to continue the ritual at home!). With limited tickets for these two free sessions on offer, guests had to jump on this one quick smart.
Your Morning Ritual on Sydney Harbour

With the glimmering harbour as the backdrop, guests had the chance to begin their day with an energising blend of movement, mindfulness and meditation on the Opera House lawns.
This gently guided 45-minute session with Paul von Bergen from Billabong Retreat was designed to awaken both body and mind, helping to create a simple daily ritual that centres and uplifts. Guests experienced deep breaths, flowing stretches and a stillness that stayed with them long after they rolled up their mat.
Awaken Well: Small Habits, Big Shifts

There was the chance to celebrate Global Wellness Day with Well Traveller TV Host and seven-time world surfing champion, Layne Beachley AO, and practitioner of positive psychology and wellbeing, Tess Brouwer! The co-founders of Awake Academy hosted an energising (and free!) 30-minute wellness session on Sydney Harbour.
Together, Layne and Tess shared science-backed rituals and real-life wisdom to help guests pause the autopilot, reconnect with themselves, and create small daily habits that lead to big life shifts. They left with amazing tools and hacks to help them feel more grounded, more energised, and more 'them'.
The Wellness Trail: Sip, Sample and Stroll

This event invited you to set your intention for the day with a sensory wellness trail through Osprey Spa and the stunning natural surrounds of Elements of Byron. There was the chance to sip a restorative immunity tea, preview the spa’s new menu, enjoy a soothing hand massage and sample botanical-infused products.
Guests then headed outdoors for a guided nature walk, where the native flora behind the spa experience comes to life. There was also a thoughtfully curated gift bag to take home.
Magical Music with Horses

This soul-stirring 2-hour experience hosted by Walk Sublime paired the intuitive presence of horses with the healing power of live music.
Relaxing under a majestic Red Gum while the beautiful, rehomed horses roamed around, and the acoustic duo ‘The Midnight Mares’ shared a rare performance with male and female harmonies and gentle guitar.
Jurlique Farm tour

Guests could venture to the beautiful Adelaide Hills and take a 90-minute walk through the certified biodynamic Jurlique Farm, where flowers and herbs are cultivated with intention and care.
It was an opportunity to gain insight into how nature, science and sustainability come together to create the iconic Jurlique skincare range. It was a behind-the-scenes peek into slow beauty - grounded in the rhythms of the Earth.
Forest bathing experience

Slow down, breathe deeply and let nature hold you. Guided by Belinda from Mindful in Nature, this free forest therapy walk took place in the awe-inspiring Boranup Forest.
Over three hours, guests awakened their senses, let go of stress and gently reconnected with the world around them. It was a powerful reset for mind, body and soul - and the perfect way to honour the theme of Living Well With Nature.
Sculpt, Sound & Sip

The team at Aqua Sculpt hosted a free, soul-nourishing, movement-filled morning at their Sculpt, Sound & Sip event in Rose Bay, Sydney.
Guests enjoyed a gentle mat pilates session, followed by a soothing sound bath and light refreshments. This was a gift of self-care to the community and a chance to connect with like-minded people who love to move, rest, and reset.
Reconnect

This beautiful 2-hour nature-based experience was hosted by Highlands Centre for Healing, in the NSW Southern Highlands.
It was a soul-nourishing session where guests enjoyed a mindful walk, a mini sound bath and time with the herd of gentle horses that call this place home, before a warm cuppa and time for reflection.
Wild Wellness Pod Eve

Alice Hansen hosted a free 2-hour deep immersion into the href=https://www.welltraveller.com.au/operators/wild-wellness-method/>Wild Wellness Method, wrapped in the comfort of the Tailored Pod with views out to the wild Southern Ocean.
This was a life-shifting experience where an intimate group gathered for a gentle guided breathwork, and meditation practice followed by an icy plunge (optional but invigorating!) in the outdoor ancient Huon Pine bath. Then they warmed up round the firepit for an author-led journaling session.
Jurlique Spa experiences

Love a freebie as much as I do? Guests could pop into a Jurlique Spa or counter nationwide on Global Wellness Day and enjoy one of the following complimentary services:
- A misting moment to lift the senses with Jurlique’s aromatic mist collection
