Hobart and South

Situated on the Derwent River and with a backdrop of the magnificent kunanyi / Mount Wellington, Tasmania’s capital city is overflowing with wellness experiences.

The bushland reserves that encircle Hobart are easily accessible and have a network of tracks suitable for walking, trail running and cycling (some are even wheelchair friendly). A favourite is the trip to the summit of kunanyi / Mount Wellington, which offers spectacular views of the greater Hobart Region, Bruny Island and down towards the South West Wilderness area. It's one of the best places to see the sunrise - take a moment to sit in stillness and breathe in the clean, crisp air.

Back down at sea level, Hobart is a food lover’s paradise - the distance between paddock and plate is short, enhancing both flavour and nutrition. Head to one of the many local cafes and restaurants, and don’t miss Salamanca Markets every Saturday from 8.30am. There’s a huge selection of fresh produce and locally made products and you can meet the growers, makers, and artisans.

Head just a little out from Hobart, and you’ll discover that southern Tasmania is a region of diverse and wild beauty: sea cliffs, big ocean, rare rock formations, tranquil rivers, and alpine mountains. Looking for somewhere to completely unplug and recharge? This is it.
