Flinders Ranges & Outback

South Australia

If you are looking for somewhere to completely unplug and immerse in nature, then the Flinders Ranges and Outback region of South Australia should be high on your list.

Just five hours north of Adelaide, this region has big open spaces that will help you slow down, breathe and feel grounded. You’ll rest under a blanket of stars and wake to a kaleidoscope of colours as the sun crosses dramatic ancient landscapes with natural wonders including Wilpena Pound, Brachina Gorge and Lake Eyre.

It’s also rich in Indigenous culture, a place where the Adnyamathanha people have lived for tens of thousands of years. Take a walking tour to sacred canyons, learn about ancient rock art and hear stories from traditional owners that will stay with you long after you return home.

If you want to move those muscles, there is an array of mountain biking trails and bushwalking tracks to suit all abilities - especially in Mount Remarkable National Park, with its deep gorges, scenic lookouts and landscape dating back 800 million years.
