Looking for some restorative wellness experiences in NSW to help you calm your nervous system before the silly season?

From mindful mornings by Sydney Harbour to guided walks through the Blue Mountains and equine experiences in the Southern Highlands, these wellness activities offer different ways to move, nourish, explore and reconnect with yourself and nature. We’ve handpicked them from the Well Traveller What’s On Calendar, your guide to wellness events, activities and experiences happening across NSW and beyond.

Here are five feel-good experiences to try before the year comes to a close.

Community Meditation in Sydney

Elizabeth Bay

Start your Saturday with stillness, connection and a beautiful waterside setting at this free community Sunrise Meditation in Elizabeth Bay.

Hosted by Caroline Hey from Somatic Balance.108, the monthly sessions combine mindful breathing, gratitude and simple meditation techniques in a welcoming space for everyone, whether you're new to meditation or have an established practice. The gentle 20-minute guided meditation sits between a welcome and closing circle, creating an opportunity to pause, reflect and connect with others.

There’s no experience or particular belief system required - just bring yourself, a willingness to slow down and something to sit on. No registration is required.

When: 1st Saturday of the month from 6.30am

Mountain Glow Wellness Walk

Lawson, Blue Mountains

Slow down and reconnect with nature on this immersive three-hour experience in the Blue Mountains with Tagster.

Follow an experienced guide through eucalyptus forest, rainforest and moss-covered rock formations to a tranquil waterfall, with opportunities to learn about local flora and fauna along the way. Pause for mindfulness and creative connection through charcoal drawing before enjoying light refreshments and discovering a hidden glow worm display as twilight falls.

The experience finishes beneath the night sky with stargazing - a restorative blend of movement, creativity, nature and wonder.

When: This experience is held on Saturdays and Sundays.

Taste of Country Experience

Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney

Discover the flavours and traditions of Australia through this immersive experience in the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.

Begin with a one-hour Bush Tucker tour led by a First Nations educator, learning about native ingredients, their traditional uses and their connection to Country. Then settle in for an exclusive three-course shared lunch at Botanic House, with a Vietnamese-inspired menu created by chef Luke Nguyen.

Combining culture, nature and food, the Taste of Country experience offers a delicious way to deepen your understanding of Indigenous ingredients while experiencing them in a contemporary culinary setting.

When: Held every Thursday, Friday and Saturday (excluding public holidays) from 11am.

Bouddi Guided Trek

Killcare, Central Coast

Experience the wild beauty of the NSW Central Coast on a four-day guided trek through Bouddi National Park, with a luxurious base at Bells at Killcare.

Led by experienced local guide Nicola Billens of Elixir Journeys, the small-group adventure takes in clifftop trails, hidden beaches, sandstone headlands and forested tracks, with insights into the region’s geology, wildlife and Aboriginal heritage along the way. Back at Bells, each day transitions from adventure to relaxation, with spa treatments, pool time and nourishing meals.

It’s a considered balance of movement, nature, comfort and restorative downtime.

When: 2-6 November 2026 and 5-9 April 2027

Women’s Equine Afternoon

Moss Vale, Southern Highlands

Spend an afternoon with a beautiful herd of horses, like-minded women and plenty of space for self-care at Highlands Centre For Healing in the NSW Southern Highlands.

Designed for a small group, this three-hour experience invites you to meet the herd, spend time with an individual horse and take part in guided activities, from forest walks to playful ground-based challenges. There’s also time for quiet reflection and afternoon tea alongside the horses, creating a warm and supportive environment to share stories and simply be yourself.

Leave feeling calmer, more grounded and ready to navigate life with renewed perspective.
