Reconnect with nature, culture and community at North Head Sanctuary Discovery Day, a free day of wellness-inspired experiences just moments from Manly.

Set among coastal bushland with sweeping harbour views, the event offers plenty of ways to move, explore and recharge. Start with gentle outdoor yoga accompanied by birdsong, immerse yourself in First Nations culture, or slow down with birdwatching and wildflower walks. Try something new with pickleball, discover native plants and wildlife, or explore the sanctuary’s fascinating history.

With fresh air, open space, connection to Country and opportunities to spend quality time outdoors, it’s a refreshing way to experience a peaceful side of Sydney’s coastline.

The main event will be held from 10am-2pm, with some ‘early bird’ activities from 8am.

  • Welcome to Country with Uncle Lloyd Walker, celebrating First Nations connection to North Head Sanctuary.
  • Gentle Yoga in Nature with Flow mOcean, overlooking the harbour.
  • Walk & Weave Tour with Koori Kinnections – a First Nations-led walk and weaving experience.
  • Pickleball Pop-Up with Love Pickle Club – have a go at the fast-growing social sport.
  • Wildflower Walk with environmentalist Judy Lambert, exploring native blooms and endangered Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub.
  • Birdwatching Tours with Aussie Bird Tours, exploring habitat for more than 150 bird species.
  • ‘Behind-the-Scenery’ Ranger Tour – discover hidden gems and hear stories from Harbour Trust rangers.
  • Bandicoot Heaven Open Day – discover North Head Sanctuary’s plants, animals and conservation work.
  • Fun Zone & Chill Zone – face painting and colouring for the kids with a relaxing harbour outlook.
  • Explore informative stalls such as Coastal Sydney’s geology and evolution and Reshaping waste.
  • Food & refreshments will be available including the Bella Vista Coffee Cart and a charity BBQ.

  • The Harbour Trust cares for places of deep cultural, historical and environmental significance, inviting visitors to slow down, explore and experience Sydney Harbour in a more mindful way.
  • Historic harbour sites are preserved and activated through exhibitions, events and community programs that celebrate Sydney’s cultural heritage.
  • Volunteer-led guided tours, self-guided walks and public events encourage locals and visitors to connect with the harbour’s environment, history and communities.

Getting there

This experience is held on the traditional lands of the Gayamagal people of the Eora Nation.
The main event hub is at North Fort Precinct, North Head Sanctuary – 10 minutes from Manly and 35 minutes from Sydney. The North Head Sanctuary Visitor Centre is located at North Fort on North Head Scenic Drive, Manly, NSW.
