Waipā Foundation

Kauai, Hawaii, USA

Located near Hanalei Bay on Kauaʻi’s North Shore, Waipā Foundation stewards a 1,600-acre ahupuaʻa, a traditional Hawaiian land division shaped by generations of sustainable living. This living learning centre offers a meaningful way to connect with the ʻāina (land and natural resources), discover Hawaiian values and experience the restorative power of laulima – working together.

Explore restored loʻi (terrace wetland), gardens, orchards and the historic auwai irrigation system, visit the farmers’ market, join a farm tour or lend a hand at a community workday. We love that a visit to Waipā provides a grounding opportunity to slow down, reconnect with nature and deepen your understanding of Hawaiian culture and traditional land practices.

Through hands-on experiences, you can contribute to the health of the land, support local food systems and connect more meaningfully with Kauaʻi’s North Shore community.
