Cultural tour of Kamay (Botany Bay) National Park

Sydney, New South Wales

Filled with significant sites, coastal landscapes and heritage-listed attractions, Kamay Botany Bay National Park in Sydney’s south, is a special location for this unique cultural tour.

Led by Founder Eric Brown, a proud descendant of the Yuin, Bidgigal, Dharawal, and Gundungarra peoples, this 2-hour tour is not just about sightseeing – it’s an immersive experience that promotes mental, spiritual and physical wellbeing, while deepening your connection to nature.

You’ll discover historical sites that showcase the area’s Indigenous heritage, including places of cultural connection and the site of the First Fleet landing. Connect with customs, from language revival to the knowledge of land and bush foods, native medicines, traditional dance, and song.

During the months of June and November, you might be able to experience the Whale Watching Ceremony – a special event that celebrates the annual migration of whales along the coast. Participants are guided by knowledgeable Indigenous storytellers who share traditional stories and significance tied to the whales, emphasizing their cultural importance and connection to the ocean.

This experience not only provides a chance to witness these magnificent creatures but also deepens your understanding of their role in the ecosystem and Indigenous narratives.
