Nestled in the Byron Bay hinterland, Crystal Castle & Shambhala Gardens is a magical, nature-filled sanctuary that’s home to the world’s largest collection of giant crystals – as soon as you enter the gates, you’ll be transported to another world!

Breathe in the clean air as you explore 5 hectares of lush botanical gardens, including a regenerated rainforest with 10,000 native trees. Stand between the towering 5.5m Crystal Guardians – the tallest smoky quartz geodes ever found. Sit inside the Dragon Egg (a 120-million-year-old amethyst crystal cave) and marvel at the 20 tonne Enchanted Cave, filled with millions of sparkling amethyst crystals.

Your day pass also includes a Crystal Sound Bath session, a Crystal Meditation session, and a Guided Tour. Don’t forget to nourish yourself with wholesome vegetarian meals at the Lotus Café before browsing the Castle Jewels store for a unique crystal keepsake and artisan jewellery.

Crystal Castle & Shambhala Gardens is open every day from 10-5pm (closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Good Friday).

Making a difference

  • In partnership with Rainforest Rescue, and with support from the community, over 7000 trees have been planted in Crystal Castle’s grounds since 2006, and over 7000 trees have naturally established as a result.
  • Over $50,000 has been raised to help build orphanages in East Timor, Kenya and South Africa.
  • The team has been donating to the ‘Support for a spiritual life’ project since 1999, providing living costs to five Buddhist nuns who live in the Tso Pema caves.
  • The Crystal Castle also donates over $20,000 in gift vouchers every year to support schools and charitable organisations within the local community.

Crystal Castle & Shambhala Gardens is located in the Byron Bay hinterland of NSW, around 2 hours from Brisbane and 20 minutes from Byron Bay. You’ll find it at 81 Monet Drive, Montecollum, NSW 2481.
