Glamping with Koalas

Port Stephens, New South Wales, Australia

Imagine waking to the soft sounds of the Australian bush, with koalas resting in the gum trees around you.

A glamping stay at Port Stephens Koala Sanctuary offers a refreshing opportunity to immerse yourself in nature while enjoying the comforts of a thoughtful retreat. Set among the trees near Nelson Bay, just over 2 hours from Sydney, the beautifully appointed tents invite you to embrace a slower, more spacious kind of getaway.

Start the morning with a coffee beneath the canopy, wander through the sanctuary and spot koalas in their natural habitat from the elevated Sky Walk or join an exclusive morning tour before the sanctuary opens. Explore the Sanctuary Story Walk or peer into the Koala Hospital viewing window and learn about the care and rehabilitation of injured and orphaned wildlife.

Then nourish yourself at the onsite café, take a dip in the pool, unwind in the heated spa or head to nearby beaches for some ocean therapy. Guided wellness experiences are also held onsite on selected days – including the Koala Dawn Experience.

With nature, wildlife and wellbeing woven into this stay, we love that it’s a glamping escape that leaves you feeling restored while supporting vital koala conservation.
