Bush tucker and wellbeing

Perth, Western Australia

Dale Tilbrook is a proud Wardandi Bibbulmun woman who loves teaching people about the benefits of bush tucker.

During this 2-hour cultural experience at the Maalinup Aboriginal Art Gallery in the Swan Valley just outside Perth, you will learn about accessible bushfood plants, their properties and uses.

The Bush Tucker and Wellbeing experience explores Aboriginal agricultural practice and the Nyungar Six Seasons. You will learn about native food and medicine plants, and bush tucker fruits, nuts, seeds, herbs, leaves and how they can be used in sweet and savory dishes.

In a relaxed setting of the Gallery you can taste a variety of wild bush foods, explore the bush food garden and feed the emus who are happy to pose for a selfie.

You’ll come away with knowledge about the nutritional value and healing properties of various Australian native food and medicine plants and have the chance to try some bush tucker teas and snacks based on these foods.

This is definitely a feast for the senses.
