The best glamping experiences in Australia
Once upon a time, camping meant lumpy sleeping bags and lukewarm instant coffee. Nowadays, those who prefer a more luxe experience can still get all the benefits of being in the great outdoors without compromising on comfort. Glamping in Australia has risen in popularity over the past decade, with our wildly diverse landscape making it the ideal location. From the wine regions of Margaret River to the coastal haven of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, there’s an outdoor escape for every travel taste.
We’ve collated a few of our favourite glamping experiences across the country that are designed to help you switch off, breathe a little deeper and reconnect to the land and to yourself.
Glamping at the Springs

The world famous Peninsula Hot Springs is known as one of Australia’s leading wellness destinations but what if you took your day trip and elevated it into an overnight stay? As with all the amenities onsite, the glamping tents are of the highest quality, each custom designed to fit in seamlessly with the natural surroundings around you.
With their geo-thermal heated floors, king-sized bed and large wrap-around deck, comfort will not be of concern when you retreat to your room after a day of soaks and saunas (all of which are included in the stay, of course). And when you wake? Access to a gourmet buffet breakfast. We recommend heading to the iconic Hilltop Pool at sunrise or sunset for unrivaled views of the Mornington Peninsula.
Yoga & Wellness Glamping Adventure

Wellness and glamping tend to go hand in hand and that’s exactly what Untamed Escapes have combined with this three-day yoga adventure in WA’s stunning South West corner. More than just a retreat, it’s a gentle immersion into mindful living and a world offline, making it one of the most rejuvenating wellness retreats Australia has to offer.
You’ll stay in a gorgeous bell tent onsite at Fair Harvest Permaculture Farm, where you’ll take part in real farm to table dining with cooking classes, visits to local farmers markets and daily mindfulness practice through yoga and meditation. A trip to the famous region wouldn’t be complete with a visit to an award-winning winery and the region’s postcard beaches, all of which are included in your stay.
An off-grid luxury farm stay

If the five-stars and baby goats don’t already have you packing your bags for Currajong Retreat then the outdoor bathtub will definitely get you over the line. Surrounded by nature on a large, farm property you’ll be reminded of what life was like before we let technology take over.
You’ll stay in what can only be described as a private sanctuary for two with each tent featuring a queen bed, intimate lounge, kitchenette, and a lavish ensuite with a waterfall shower. The signature outdoor bath with its river views is an added and very welcome bonus. There’s no need to worry about cooking as your stay is fully catered so you can completely let go of any responsibilities and simply, be.
The Supa Luxe Glamping Experience

Victoria’s answer to a hillside Tuscan getaway, Mirador Springs Retreat is a must for those looking to go glamping in Victoria with a bit of extra luxury. We’re not sure if it’s the sweeping valley and mountain views, the private bathhouse with floor to ceiling windows and an infrared sauna or the personal fire pit and pizza oven that make this stay so special but we do know that you’ll forget all about your daily stressors from the moment you arrive.
Guests are welcome to use all onsite facilities, which include walking trails and a mineral pool with a views to die for. The property is also home to a number of rescue farm animals which you’re encouraged to pet and connect with—just an added element of wellness at what is already a soul-enriching venue.
Off-grid glamping at Budgalong Lodge

Perched on a hill upon a vast 7000-acre property, surrounded by gumtrees and endless views, Budgalong Lodge feels perfectly removed from the every day. Embodying the essence of Australia, the safari-style lodges feel like an authentic way to experience glamping in NSW. Being 100% off-grid, connection is at the heart of a stay at the Mudgee property, with both nature and those you choose to share the experience with.
The two-bedroom tent strikes a rare balance between privacy and intimacy while the large verandah will make it hard to miss a sunset or sunrise (and don’t worry, blankets, hot water bottles and an outdoor fire pit will keep you warm from the crisp country air). For an extra wellness boost, ask the team to arrange a yoga or meditation session, or simply use the stillness around you to inspire your own practice.
Eco Glamping at the Everglades

Most people think of beaches and surfing when they think of the Sunshine Coast but there’s also a quieter, more restorative side that’s just waiting to be discovered. Just 25 minutes from the buzz of Noosa, you can wake up to birdsong in a private bell-tent overlooking the calm waters of Lake Cootharaba.
Sitting on 65-acres of National Park, Habitat Noosa feels worlds away while still remaining easily accessible. Spend your days moving slowly, at your own pace either walking around the nearby trails or taking to the lake on a kayak or standup paddleboard. This is life in its simplest, purest form which will leave you and your nervous system calm and restored.
2-night Glamping Getaway at The Lodge

Outdoor firepit, heated spa and a world-class onsite restaurant? This is glamping at its finest. Tucked in the rolling hills of the Coffs Hinterland, the luxury glamping tents at The Lodge Bellingen are not only air conditioned and fully self-contained, they also sleep up to four people and have uninterrupted views of the Dorrigo Mountains.
This two-night getaway is perfect for those who are curious about a nature getaway but not quite ready to give up the little luxuries. Upon arrival, you’ll be met with welcome drinks and a gourmet grazing box and you’re then free to explore the 16-acre property, feed the alpacas or dine at the Three Blue Ducks restaurant just mere meters from your door.
